How to Get Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key in Phantom Blade Zero

Overview and Location

The Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key is an essential item located in the first map of Phantom Blade Zero. Because the game requires significant progression before you can return to this specific gate, you will need to follow a precise path through the surrounding region to reach both the key and the necessary tool required to collect it.

This guide details the exact route up the tower, how to locate the required item, and the path to the boss fight necessary for progression.

Requirements and Prerequisites

Before you can successfully claim the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate Key, you must meet certain requirements within the game world:

• Map Progress: You must have progressed far enough into the first map of the game to return to the Shachi Tower Base Camp Gate area.
• Required Item: You need the Hunter's Chain Sickle (referred to during the journey as the Phantom Edge) to reach and interact with the key location.

Step 1: Navigating to the Tower

To begin your journey toward the gate key, you must make your way to the prominent tower situated at the top of the area:

1. Proceed through the first map until you cross the bridge leading directly to the base of the tower.
2. Enter the tower structure and locate the staircase just inside.
3. Follow the winding staircase all the way upward, jumping and climbing the designated sections as you progress around the corners.
4. Continue up until you reach a lift, then take the final staircase that leads to the top resting point.
5. Speak with the NPC stationed here to pick up their quest.
6. Resume your climb past the NPC toward the absolute top of the tower, where you will spot the gate key resting in the distance. Note that you cannot pick it up immediately without the proper item.

Step 2: Locating the Boss and the Hunter's Chain Sickle

To acquire the item needed to reach the key, you must redirect your journey toward a specific boss encounter:

1. Rather than taking the ladder all the way down from the upper tower area, carefully jump onto the series of industrial pipes below.
2. Angle your jumps to land securely on each pipe without falling, allowing you to collect an item along the path.
3. Upon reaching the end of the pipe section, you will encounter an enemy who holds a hand crank for the tower forge.
4. Continue proceeding downwards and follow the distant bridge in view, which leads directly to the boss fight against "The Hunt."
5. Defeat the boss to obtain the necessary equipment (the Hunter's Chain Sickle / Phantom Edge).

Step 3: Retrieving the Sha-Chi Tower Gate Key

Once you have secured the required item from the boss encounter, you are ready to finalize your objective:

1. Return to the upper level of the tower where the key is visible.
2. Look up toward the target prompt and press the interaction button to collect the key.
3. Use the key to unlock access to the tower base camp located at the lower end of the area.
4. Fast travel back to the base camp to thoroughly explore the newly accessible region.
