Phantom Blade Zero: How to Enter the Mirage Estate Guide

Overview and Prerequisites

Entering the Mirage Estate in Phantom Blade Zero requires undertaking a multi-step main quest line centered around exploring the Four Serpent Houses. To successfully open the hidden pathway, you must track down three crucial items: the Serpent's Eye, the Serpent's Tongue, and the Serpent's Fang.

Your journey begins in the Pang Zhen region at the Green Serpent House. Interacting with the giant snake head inside the greenhouse triggers a quest instructing you to search for these specific relics. However, reaching all four serpent houses requires progressing through the story, unlocking the Flaming Mane tool, and navigating new regions via a mechanical boat.

Phase 1: Initiating the Quest and Unlocking Yura's House

Your adventure starts in Pang Zhen near the local bell marker:

1. Locate the Green Serpent House: Head to the greenhouse near the bell and interact with the snake head sculpture. An NPC will explain that you need the eyes, tongue, and fangs to open the sealed door, officially beginning "The Four Serpent Houses" quest.
2. Visit Yura's House: Progress further up into the Pang Zhen region until you reach Yura's house. Speak with Yura's father and advance the storyline to receive your first major plot-related item.
3. Defeat the Lion Dance Hall Boss: Immediately after leaving Yura's house, you will encounter a group of lion dancers. Defeat them to acquire the gate item needed to challenge the lion dancing boss. Proceed to the gate on the left-hand side of your main objectives, open the door, and defeat the boss inside.

Phase 2: Repairing the Flaming Mane and Unlocking Phantom Edge

After defeating the lion dancing boss, you will receive a dormant flaming mane. You must repair it before it can be used to burn away obstacles:

1. Travel to Jing Yang Hall: Make your way to the Jing Yang Hall fast-travel point in Pang Zhen.
2. Repair the Item: Open the door from the bell, head into the large building located at the back of the area, and trigger the event to repair the Flaming Mane. This unlocks the Flaming Mane Phantom Edge ability.
3. Understand the Objective: Although the Flaming Mane allows you to burn through previously blocked pathways, your main quest objective will still direct you to the secret entrance at the Green Serpent House. You must gather the three serpent relics before the door will open.

Phase 3: Collecting the Serpent Tongue and First Long Emblem Piece

With the Flaming Mane unlocked, you can now access previously unreachable areas on the map:

1. Explore the Red Serpent House (Crimson Forest): Travel to the Crimson Forest and locate the blocked pathway on the left. Use the Phantom Edge to burn away the thorny barrier guarding the Red Serpent House.
2. Loot the House: Step inside to collect the Long Emblem piece (which serves as a key component for a later location) and the Serpent Tongue. Loot the remaining items in the house before moving on.

Phase 4: Acquiring the Serpent Fang and Second Long Emblem Piece

Next, you will need to travel to another regional location to locate the third serpent house:

1. Navigate to the Village of Lou: Head to the Village of Lou to find the Black Serpent House, which was previously inaccessible.
2. Clear the Thorns: From the nearby bell, travel up the pathway and burn down the thorny barricade blocking the entrance.
3. Collect Relics: Enter the Black Serpent House to pick up the Serpent Fang (your second required item) and another crucial piece of the Long Emblem. Loot any remaining supplies inside.

Phase 5: Reaching the White Serpent House and Serpent's Eye

The final item requires exploring a brand-new body of water and island region:

1. Unlock the Docks: Return to Pang Zhen, go to the Pavilion of Knowledge Crossroads, climb the stairs to the left, and burn away the thorns blocking the path to the docks.
2. Board the Mechanical Boat: At the end of the dock, interact with the boat to sail across the regional islands. Be sure to explore every island for extra loot and to visit the Shachi Tower.
3. Find the Specific Island: Sail to the island marked by your quest icon where you are prompted to use the Long Emblem and collect the Serpent's Eye. Park your boat at the island dock by hitting the interaction prompt during the cutscene.
4. Defeat the Island Boss: Explore the path up the stairs, fighting off enemies and looting the two chests on the right. Use the Long Emblem Key to open the door to the main house and defeat the boss inside.
5. Retrieve the Serpent's Eye: Once the boss is defeated, enter the main house to collect the Serpent's Eye, completing your collection of all three relics.

Phase 6: Unlocking the Mirage Estate

With the Serpent's Eye, Tongue, and Fang in your possession, you are fully prepared to enter the hidden estate:

1. Return to Pang Zhen: Travel back to the Green Serpent House where your quest originally began.
2. Interact with the Snake Head: Enter the greenhouse and approach the snake head sculpture once again.
3. Insert the Items: Place the collected relics into the mechanism to unlock the pathway leading directly into the Mirage Estate, opening up new areas of the game for exploration.
